Ridge’s Fatal Mistake

Ridge Forrester and Caroline Spencer have been together since the very beginning of the series. For Ridge, the relationship starts as little more than lighthearted romance, but Caroline quickly falls deeply in love with him. After several weeks of dates and tender kisses, Ridge begins to want more. Caroline, however, makes her position clear: she will only share a bed with her lawful husband. Those are her values, her beliefs, the way she was raised.

Realizing she is serious, Ridge decides to go all in and proposes. Caroline joyfully accepts, convinced her dream has come true. Yet she is the only one truly happy about the engagement. Ridge’s parents, Eric and Stephanie, are stunned by the sudden announcement and cannot understand their son’s motives. The more they get to know Caroline, the more confused they become, seeing how kind and genuine she is.

Caroline’s only parent, Bill Spencer, is openly opposed to the union. Despite her attempts to convince him that Ridge is a worthy man, she has no idea that Margo Lynley, whose heart Ridge once broke, has deliberately befriended Bill to turn him against Ridge. And she succeeds. Bill becomes convinced that the wedding is a terrible mistake.
